World Orphan Drug Congress 2017

Juliet and Helen enjoyed an interesting couple of days at the World Orphan Drug Congress, hosted in Washington. The event was attended by companies, individuals and patient associations who aim to find solutions or support for rare disease suffers.

This was only the 7th annual congress but the event is beginning to influence and bring together rare disease specialists. The primary event focus is searching for new and improved therapies for individuals with some of the rarest known conditions.

Illingworth Research Group has experience in numerous Orphan Indications and it is an area we are particularly passionate about. We enjoy supporting and attending these wonderful events and this congress provides an opportunity to meet rare disease suffers and be inspired by their stories, as well as providing an excellent platform to listen to other who aim to help improve these individual’s quality of life.

Our mobile research nursing services was very well received by many individuals as well as companies operating in the area. Introducing mobile research nursing improves the patient experience and often has a positive impact on both trial recruitment and patient retention. It was a hectic couple of days for Helen and Juliet but we feel some excellent new contacts were made.

The World Orphan Drug Congress was such an exciting and potentially influential event that we have made the decision to secure our space at next year's event, again to be held in Washington. We are hopeful that that the next Congress proves as busy and interesting for the team. See you again in 2018!
