Illingworth Research Group is adding to its international presence with the announcement of several new appointments.
Illingworth, a Contract Research Organisation headquartered in the United Kingdom and operating worldwide, has added Julia Jones and Andy Thurstan to its frontline business development team alongside a number of recruits.
Julia Jones joins as Senior Director of Business Development based in Sydney, Australia, after 14 years with Novotech and more than 25 years of clinical research experience in Asia Pacific. Julia says:
“There are clear and significant benefits to tailoring programmes to a patient-centric approach, and I’m delighted to be joining Illingworth to promote the company’s mobile RN and medical photography services in this region.”
Andy Thurstan takes up a role of Director of Business Development after almost 12 years in the industry with MD Group. Andy, based in Cheshire, England, comments:
“I jumped at the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative organisation like Illingworth. What impresses me is the uniqueness of the company’s service offering. I don’t think I’ve ever seen CRO services, off-site research nursing, and medical photography under one roof before.
“The fact that Illingworth has been providing mobile research nurses for off-site visits for more than 20 years – way before patient centricity and patient engagement became industry buzz-words – speaks volumes to me. The future of clinical trials is already here and it’s great news for patients.”
Across the board, the company’s expansion continues with Emmanuel Lee, based in Adelaide, Australia named as Research Nurse Project Manager to cater for growth in the Asia-Pacific region. Emmanuel says:
“This unique service is new to many sponsors and investigator sites, however once they understand the benefits to their studies and the convenience factor it brings to patients, the value is clear to everyone. I can only see good things for all involved.”
In addition, Jorge Alvim becomes Proposals and Contracts Manager as the number of requests for proposals grows, while Chris Hutchinson is another new face at Illingworth’s UK HQ, joining as BD and Contracts Administrator. Helen Springford, Vice President of Strategic Development, says:
“We have seen an explosion in the level of new business during 2018 in all areas of the business, but especially off-site research nursing as the popularity of our mobile research nursing seems to gather pace every day.
“With our business taking off in Australia, the Middle East and most recently, Russia, it makes sense to broaden our horizons in line with the needs of our clients. All of which benefits those who come to us not only for off-site nursing, but also for our CRO capabilities and medical photography service.
“As a business we have always focused on attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry and I am delighted to welcome all of our new people to this compelling company. It’s such an exciting time for Illingworth, and we will have some exciting new announcements to make over the next few months."
